Construction Administrator

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Construction Management

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management and administration

  • Extensive knowledge of state and local building codes

  • Demonstrated success directing, managing and coordinating the work of internal design teams, consultants and construction personnel throughout construction

  • Excellent client communications required to inspire client confidence and manage expectations. This role represents the firm during construction, therefore a high level of responsibility, accountability, organizational and communication skills are required.

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe creative suite, AutoCAD, BIM software, and project management software such as Primavera, Procore, Submittal Exchange, Sage and similar.

  • Strong technical skills with acute attention to detail

  • Positive and professional attitude; collaborative mindset

  • Experience in New York public K-12 school projects and knowledge of NYSED planning standards is preferred 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Independently review submittals, RFIs, and similar documentation for multiple ongoing projects in construction.

  • Attend regular construction site meetings as the MEMASI representative. Prepare field reports and documentation of construction progress and observed deficiencies.

  • Resolve construction inconsistencies in the field related to conformance with project specifications, contract documents and design intent.

  • Manage multiple projects in construction simultaneously, predominantly during the summer months.

  • Perform QA/QC reviews of bid and contract documents.

  • Evaluate and review contract documents to limit risk exposure.


Senior Project Manager, Senior Project Architect

Position Requirements:

  • Master of Architecture degree

  • 15+ years of experience with design, documentation, and management experience through all phases of design through construction

  • Architectural License in New York

  • Team oriented, creative and client-focused with knowledge of educational design trends, technical detailing, and materials and methods involved in construction or repair of buildings

  • Positive and professional attitude, and collaborative mindset

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills. Ability to connect with and understand client and various stakeholders’ goals and provide excellent and personal customer services 

  • Experience with NYSED and with CT OSCG&R preferred

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools including REVIT, and principles involved in production of precise architectural documents

  • Knowledge of business, economic, and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources, and analysis and reporting of project financial data

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans, manages, and controls multiple projects and project teams collaboratively and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project team.

  • Responsible for creating, monitoring and updating project budget and schedule including management of client agreements and project billing.

  • Manages, directs coordination, and monitors consultant services including consultant agreements, agreement changes and payments.

  • Prepares and/or directs all phases of project, coordination of design, the design team and consultants, and the coordination of building systems. Responsible for document creation regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, constructability and construction administration.

  • Ability to think critically, use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, and looks for improvement opportunities.

  • Manages a fair workload, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, meets commitments, and manages one’s own time and the time of others well.

  • Understands and coordinates applicable building codes, environmental and safety requirements.

  • Mentors or coaches staff, actively participates in solving problems, and maintains communication across project design teams, including construction managers, contractors and clients.


Architectural Designer (multiple openings)

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree

  • 3-8 years of experience working in a professional architectural design studio

  • Team oriented, creative and client-focused

  • Positive and professional attitude, and collaborative mindset

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Strong knowledge of design programs, including REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Ability to draw by hand

Position Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Project Team to partake and assist with developing and documenting client goals, design concepts, and budget and schedule.

  • Participate in documentation of existing conditions, project production, modeling and development, product and materials research, and partaking in building conditions assessments and in construction administration tasks.
